Senior Logistics Manager

Job description

  • Participates in formulating and administering policies, directing and coordinating all Logistics departments’ activities to develop and meet business and profitability growth objectives.
  • Reviews analyses of activities, costs, Logistics and forecasts data to determine department/division progress toward stated goals and objectives.
  • Confers with the team to review target achievements.
  • Develops, reviews, updates and implements business strategic planning, including operations, financial performance and marketing.
  • Overseeing Logistics to ensure minimum cost and to meet demand growth.
  • Overseeing distribution of goods and facility layout.
  • To lead key projects, processes and performance reports, data and analysis.
  • Reviews and approves preparation of accounting analysis for budgetary planning and implementation and financial reporting.
  • Develop strategies and set the budget for the Logistics department in accordance with company's main strategy.
  • Managing the company’s 3PL relationship to ensure order execution performance, inventory control and exception management.
  • Identifying opportunities to optimize freight costs while meeting Customer & Field required ship dates.
  • Collaborating directly with senior leadership on the development and implementation of strategies to enhance the value and cost-effectiveness of the distribution model.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret operational needs, and develop integrated, creative solutions
  • Developing a strong and comprehensive department KPI framework, ensuring all key performance and cost targets are met in conjunction with excellent customer experience.
  • Developing initiatives to improve speed, efficiency and the quality of current process and make our customer experience better than ever.
  • Supporting and mentor managers ensuring team goals are met and Digikala corporate values are respected.
  • Leads, motivates and supports a large team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment. This will include the setup and implementation of career development plans for all direct reports.
  • To work closely with technology teams to develop a joint system roadmap between technology and Logistics.
  • Maintaining health and safety standards within area and promoting a positive health and safety culture on site.
  • Providing data points for the preparation of business reviews and planning reports.
  • Developing integrated schedule and risk management platform and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or master degree holder in/Engineering/Supply chain/Logistics/MBA or related fields.
  • At least 5 years of management experience in the field of operations in large size companies
  • Experience in management, operations, and leadership.
  • Understanding of general finance and budgeting, including P&L, balance sheet and cash-flow management.
  • Prior working experience in e-commerce or distribution industry is preferred.
  • Strong people management experience
  • Strong numeric and analytic aptitude
  • International/regional experience is a plus
  • Ability to work within an ambiguous and fast-moving environment.
  • Excellent motivational and communication skills with an ability to inspire and lead others
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen methodologies would be highly advantageous
  • Fluent in English
