Product Manager

Job description

  • Drive product development across teams (primarily Engineering, Operations, Product Management, Business Development, and Marketing) through business requirements, design, implementation, and release
  • Develop detailed, crisp business requirements and user stories that can be used to create product specifications and architecture for each product and application
  • Contribute to business model analysis and effective customer focused pricing strategy.
  • Accomplishes information technology staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Define creative, high-quality road maps based on team strategy and vision
  • Work with the business development, account management, operations, and engineering teams to design, plan, and implement system integration with partners and customers
  • Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues to help the team meet strategic, financial, and technical goals
  • Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth
  • Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners
  • Author documents relating to product life cycle including product strategy, roadmap, business requirements, use cases and functional specifications
  • Directs technological research by studying organization goals, strategies, practices, and user projects Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments and data center

Requirements

  • At least Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or 5+ years relevant work experience working directly with engineering teams
  • Proven success in delivering complex technology products/services in a high growth environment
  • Experience delivering products that incorporate advanced analytical techniques, data-driven decision processes and applied statistical methods
  • Experience in leading product development start to finish, including shipping customer-facing products, with the ability to drive prioritization consensus across business units and serve as an effective liaison between customers and engineering
  • Demonstrated solid judgment and effective communication skills. Ability to see the big picture, while navigating technology and partner development decisions and tradeoffs
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organization
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on communicating technical requirements and solutions to internal and external audiences
  • Strong customer focus, ownership, urgency and drive
  • Negotiation and influence management skills Understanding of eCommerce business systems and business processes is a big plus
